Big Things

It's that time.

That time of year when I start mentally planning for next year.

If you could see inside my head sometimes you'd probably need a nap - or a shot of booze - or both. My brain is a wonderful but exhausting place where I am constantly reworking, redoing, and reconfiguring.

I seriously feel like I'm in a constant state of searching for * perfect * containers. The brightest most amazing pillows. The thickest most durable laminating sheets. All that crap.

But truth be told - I love that crap. I've grown to love that crap. I used to hate it - because it's annoying and obsessive and expensive. But hey, if I'm going to be in a room for 8 hours a day then it better be just gorgeous. Or as close to gorgeous as I can get before I have to live in a cardboard box.

Anyway...

I've made some things! Some things for next year! And psssst... a little birdie (or two) has told me that I'm going to first grade! (Simply Fabulous in First? Nice ring to it.) So now I'm in SUPER HYPER MEGA OVERDRIVE to get everything ready for this new adventure!

So I've been doing a lot of updating - the first to get a facelift are these wonderful folders I inherited from a lovely teacher. They are fantastic writing center folders with all kinds of great activities, directions, materials, etc...

But.

They're old.

And in primary colors.

I just... can't.

Sooooo now I'm remaking them! Plagiarism? Whatever. It's probably fine as long as you don't fink on me. So I'm in the process of making all of these gorgeous writing center activities... it's time consuming but I think it will be a fabulous little bundle when I'm done.

Pretty! I'm still in the process of creating all of the other components to with each folder. I will also be doing some shopping around to figure out the best folder for the job. Has to be durable and pretty! Lots of exciting things to come, thanks for stopping by!

See you June 15th!

So I've hit the proverbial wall with this school year. Lack of motivation to do anything besides the normal routine and unfortunately that means blogging.

I'm hoping the creative juices will start flowing when the woes of this school year are over and all is calm again in the jungle.

Until then, my friends, I will be wrangling 42 squirmy second graders and guiding them toward their summer vacation.

Wish me luck. :)
